About ExchangeCompare
An independent comparison platform for decentralized crypto exchanges. We track fees, leverage, volume, TVL, and safety across perpetual and spot DEXs — and refresh the data daily.
What we do
ExchangeCompare helps traders choose a decentralized exchange by putting every platform on the same standardized scorecard: taker/maker fees, max leverage, KYC requirements, supported chains, 24h volume, and total value locked (TVL). We cover 13 active perpetual and spot DEXs including Hyperliquid, GMX, dYdX, GRVT, Paradex, EdgeX, Lighter, Aster, and more.
Our rating methodology
Each exchange receives a rating from 1.0 to 5.0 based on a weighted composite of measurable factors:
- Cost — perpetual taker/maker fees and volume-tier discounts.
- Liquidity — 24h trading volume and TVL, sourced from DeFiLlama and CoinGecko.
- Product depth — number of perpetual and spot markets, max leverage, spot availability.
- Accessibility — KYC requirements, supported chains, mobile/API access.
- Safety — audit history, time in market, custody model, and incident record.
Data sources
Quantitative data is pulled from DeFiLlama and CoinGecko APIs and each exchange's official documentation. Qualitative assessments draw on official docs, terms of service, and public reporting. We list the sources used on every exchange page.
How often we update
Volume, TVL, and fee data are refreshed daily. Every exchange page shows its last-updated date. When an exchange shuts down or is acquired (e.g. Vertex, Velo), we remove it from the active comparison so the data you see reflects exchanges you can actually trade on today.
How we make money
ExchangeCompare earns referral commissions when you sign up to an exchange through our links. This never affects an exchange's rating or ranking — scores are derived from data, not commercial terms. Comparisons and best-of rankings are sorted strictly by the underlying metrics.
Nothing on this site is financial advice. Leveraged trading on perpetual DEXs carries substantial risk of loss. Always do your own research.
