Costs use each exchange's standard taker fee on the full position notional. Volume-tier discounts, maker rebates, and gas are not included.
Taker vs Maker Fees
Takers remove liquidity (market orders) and pay higher fees; makers add liquidity (limit orders) and pay less — sometimes even earning a rebate. Most active traders pay taker fees.
Fees Apply to Notional
DEX fees are charged on the full position size (notional), not your margin. A $10,000 position at 0.045% costs $4.50 per side — $9 round-trip — regardless of leverage.
Volume Discounts
Most exchanges lower fees as your 30-day volume grows. This calculator uses standard tier rates; high-volume traders should also check each exchange's best-tier and referral discounts.
